When we filmed this it was December 16th and it was unusually cold at -22 degrees Celsius. Most of the film crew had just flown in from L.A. where I’m assuming they had recently been surfing, sunbathing and drinking margaritas while being fanned by palm fronds. It must have been a shock to arrive in the iron hills near the north Atlantic where Daedric weapons are forged— only true Nords could have attempted such a thing and they earned my respect! We spent 12 hours filming. The next day we had one of the biggest snowstorms of the winter, frost trolls were throwing rocks at each other and howling, we could hear them through the thin walls of our house as we huddled in the light of the kitchen fire. Adam Lawson, Nika Harper and the director of photography Dallas Sterling meanwhile had to drive south in a rented car. I wasn’t sure they’d make it, but they were built for adventure it seems, and they were filming in New England the next day.
